Cemetery Mapping
Cembase Cemetery Mapping has been important part of Legacy Mark's product line for many years and is a true Geographical Information Systems (GIS) utility. Our mapping system has been built on the industry leader in end-user GIS development systems. We have developed and refined the tools in our mapping system that are required to manage the unique business needs in the cemetery industry. With our experience since 1987 in the cemetery software business combined with the industry leader in GIS we proudly offer the best mapping solution for your customers.
Why GIS? Geographical Information Systems have been around for a long time and are finding new applications every day. They are particularly suited for the cemetery industry because they can create an extremely accurate on-screen map and then incorporate data from an outside data system right into the map. That means that a user can view a grave on the screen, know it's status by it's color code, see the owner/occupant name right on the grave, and click on it to see more data about the grave. Here the data are such items as deed numbers, contract numbers, dates of birth/death/interment, address, marker codes, etc… Cembase Cemetery Mapping has proven track record as a vital tool for sales, management, record management, customer support, and even grounds maintenance.

Cembase Mapping Specific Features
- Every Space on the map is distinguished by name and location and is linked to the Cembase database.
- Every Space on the map is color-coded based on its status: for sale, sold and not used, sold and interred. This color-coding makes evaluation of the cemetery fast and easy with visual inspection. You can look at the cemetery on the computer screen and immediately know the status of every grave.
- Cembase Cemetery Maps detail all of the features of the client's cemetery and track data to each item. For example, all roads, paths, monuments, sections, blocks, lots, graves and buildings are digitized. Additionally the electrical, water, drainage and other utilities can be added to the mapping system. These utility layers can be selected to be visible or invisible based on the user's needs.
- Above ground spaces are detailed with the same precision and flexibility of in-ground spaces, so all niches, mausoleums and columbariums will be included in the mapping system.
- Locate Client's on the mapping system by simply clicking a button! The client's graves are highlighted and the system zooms right in on these graves.
- Client's Names are displayed right on the grave for identification purposes. When a client is located on the map the surrounding graves are plainly in view with names on them; The same names that are on the markers in that area. Printing this map and an overall map will give detailed directions to a specific grave in minutes.
- Inventory Management is greatly enhanced by the color coding of the grave spaces. When a user looks at a map the green graves are for sale, it's that simple. This feature is especially useful for sales efforts where a customer can review the available spaces on screen and on a print-out before walking the grounds.
- Multiple Burials are easily managed for any and all graves, mausoleums, columbariums and niches.
